Terms of Service

1. Accepting these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Mango Connect Services ("MangoKonnect", "we", "us"), the operator of the MangoKonnect app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and the community rules in section 6. If you do not agree, do not use MangoKonnect.

2. Who can use MangoKonnect

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
• You must not have been previously removed or banned from MangoKonnect.
• You must not be prohibited from using the Service by any law that applies to you.
• You may hold one account only, registered with your own email address.

If we learn that someone under 18 is using the Service, we will remove the account.

3. Your account

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your login private. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
• Tell us straight away at support@mangokonnect.com if you think someone else is using your account.
• Your account is personal. You may not sell, transfer or share it.

4. What MangoKonnect offers

MangoKonnect is a platform for meeting and communicating with other adults. Depending on your plan and availability, it includes:

• Discovery and matching: browse and swipe profiles, like or pass, and match when two people like each other.
• Konnect: see who is active, who liked you, and who you liked, and message people directly using Mango Coins.
• Messages: private conversations with text, photos, voice notes and documents.
• Chatrooms: group rooms, including premium and women-only or men-only rooms.
• Instant Match: create a searchable profile and search for people by preferences.
• Marketplace: approved vendors list products and services for other members.
• Mango Support: help from our team.

We may change, add or remove features at any time. Some features may be limited to certain plans, regions or accounts.

5. Your profile and verification

• Use your real identity and recent photos of yourself. Do not impersonate anyone or use photos of other people.
• We may ask for email verification and a live selfie to confirm you are real. Verified members receive a badge. A badge shows that we completed a check, not that a person is trustworthy or safe.
• We may refuse, remove or edit profile content that breaks these Terms.

6. Community rules

MangoKonnect has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You agree that you will not:

• Bully, harass, stalk, threaten, shame or abuse anyone.
• Post hate speech or discriminate against people because of their race, tribe, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or any other characteristic.
• Post, send or request nudity, sexually explicit material, or any sexual content involving a minor. Child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities.
• Post or promote graphic violence, gore, self-harm, terrorism, or illegal acts.
• Scam, defraud, blackmail or mislead anyone, including romance scams and requests for money, transport fare, airtime, gift cards or crypto.
• Impersonate another person, or create fake or duplicate accounts.
• Spam, advertise or sell things outside the Marketplace, or send bulk or repetitive messages.
• Share another person's private information (including phone numbers, addresses or photos) without their permission.
• Post phone numbers or other contact details publicly in chatrooms. To exchange contact details, send a private message.
• Upload viruses or harmful files, or try to hack, scrape, reverse engineer or overload the Service.
• Try to avoid a ban, a chatroom removal, a filter or any other safety measure.
• Use MangoKonnect for anything illegal, or break the law that applies to you.

7. Messaging, chatrooms and media

• You are responsible for everything you send, including text, photos, voice notes and documents.
• Only send files you have the right to share. You may send photos, voice notes, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text and CSV files within the size limits shown in the app.
• Chatroom messages are visible to everyone in the room. Some rooms are restricted to premium members or to one gender.
• We use automated filters, for example to block phone numbers in chatrooms, and our team may review reported content or Mango Support chats.
• Admins may remove messages, remove you from a room for 24 hours, or take other action when the rules are broken.

8. Reporting, blocking and enforcement

• Report: you can report a user, a room or a listing from the app. We review reports and act on those that break our rules, usually within 24 hours.
• Block and unmatch: you can block anyone, or unmatch from someone. An unmatch is permanent: you will not be able to match with that person again.
• What we may do: remove content, warn you, limit features, remove you from a chatroom, suspend or permanently deactivate your account, and report illegal activity to the authorities. Coins and memberships are not refunded when an account is closed for breaking these Terms.
• Appeals: if you believe we made a mistake, write to support@mangokonnect.com and we will review it.

9. Mango Coins

• Mango Coins are a virtual item that lets you use certain features, such as starting a conversation with someone you have not matched with (currently 1 coin per new chat; reopening an existing chat is free).
• New members receive 2 free coins when they complete signup. We may offer other free coins at our discretion.
• Coins have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred or sold to anyone.
• Coins are not refundable, except where the law requires.
• We may change coin prices and how many coins a feature costs. We may correct coin balances that were added in error or by abuse.

10. Premium memberships

• Premium plans (MangoXtra, MangoPro and MangoUltra) unlock extra features such as more daily swipes, filters, premium rooms and Sneaky Mode. The features of each plan are shown on the Membership page.
• Each purchase gives access for the period shown (currently 30 days). Memberships do not renew automatically. You must buy again to continue.
• When a membership ends, premium features stop after any short grace period we show in the app.
• Memberships are personal and non-transferable, and are not refundable except where the law requires.

11. Marketplace and vendors

For vendors

• You must complete verification, including a government-issued ID that belongs to you, and have an active Vendor subscription to post items.
• Your listings must be accurate, lawful and yours to sell. You are responsible for your products, prices, delivery, refunds, taxes and compliance with consumer law.
• Not allowed: illegal, stolen or counterfeit goods; weapons; drugs and prescription medicine; adult or sexual content or services; live animals; hazardous items; misleading or fraudulent offers; and anything we decide is unsafe or inappropriate.
• We may review, reject, hide or remove listings and vendor accounts that break these Terms. Vendor subscription fees are not refundable except where the law requires.

For buyers

• The Marketplace only connects buyers and sellers. MangoKonnect is not a party to any sale, does not hold your money, and does not inspect, guarantee or deliver items.
• Always ask for a live photo or video of an item before you pay. Never send money to someone you do not trust, and meet in a safe public place for hand-over.
• MangoKonnect is not responsible for any loss, damage or fraud arising from transactions between users, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

12. Instant Match

Instant Match lets you link a searchable profile (using details such as height, complexion, body type and relationship intent) and search for other linked members by preferences. Your linked profile is visible to people using Instant Match. You can update or remove it at any time. Instant Match is available to all members. Starting a new chat from Instant Match costs 1 Mango Coin, and reopening a chat you have already started is free.

13. Payments and refunds

• Prices are shown in Nigerian naira (NGN) and include applicable taxes unless stated.
• Payments are processed by our payment partner, Paystack. By paying, you also agree to their terms.
• Purchases are delivered to your account after the payment is confirmed. If a payment succeeds but your purchase does not appear, contact us with your payment reference and we will fix it.
• Unless the law says otherwise, all purchases are final and non-refundable. We may refuse or reverse payments we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or unauthorised.
• Purchases are currently available on our website. They are not offered inside the Android app. If we add in-app purchases, they will be processed through Google Play, and we will update these Terms first.
• If you download MangoKonnect through an app store, the store's own billing rules and terms may also apply to purchases.

15. Your content

• You keep ownership of the photos, messages, listings and other content you post ("Your Content").
• By posting it, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, copy and process Your Content as needed to run, protect and improve the Service. This ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already shared it or we need to keep it for safety or the law.
• You promise that Your Content is yours (or you have permission to use it), that it does not break the law or anyone's rights, and that anyone shown in it has agreed to it being shared.

16. Our rights

The MangoKonnect name, logo, app, design and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not copy, modify, sell, or create products from it, or use our branding without written permission.

17. Ending your account

• By you: you may stop using MangoKonnect at any time and ask us to delete your account (see Deleting your account). Unused coins, memberships and subscriptions are lost.
• By us: we may suspend or close an account, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, put others at risk, or if we are required to by law.

Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends (including 15, 18, 19, 20 and 21) will continue.

18. Disclaimers

MangoKonnect is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that you will find a match or a relationship, or that other users' profiles, messages, listings or intentions are true or lawful. You use the Service, and interact with other users, at your own risk.

19. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MangoKonnect and its owners, staff and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, lost profits, loss of data, or harm arising from your dealings with other users, including any in-person meetings or Marketplace transactions. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

20. Your responsibility

You agree to compensate and protect MangoKonnect against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from Your Content, your breach of these Terms or the law, or your dealings with other users.

21. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally. If we cannot, the courts of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria will have the authority to decide it, unless the law in your country of residence gives you rights to bring a claim elsewhere.

22. App store terms

If you download MangoKonnect from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and MangoKonnect only, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google have no duty to provide support or maintenance for the app, and are not responsible for claims relating to it. They are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for the app you downloaded and may enforce them against you. You must also follow the store's own terms.

23. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email and update the date above. If you keep using MangoKonnect after the change, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
